Wedding Trend: Silhouettes

Silhouettes are by far one of the most romantic wedding trends available to brides nowadays. Not only are they beautiful, but they are romantic and a little on the mysterious side as well.

Have you ever given thought to incorporating silhouettes into your wedding décor? They add a playful pastime to your modern event.

What about getting a Silhouette Style Ring for your sweetie?

Or incorporating an antique cameo on your bouquet?

Or as a Cake Topper?

Some of the more traditional uses of silhouettes are for the menus, invitations, or on any printed stationary like these from Wedding Chicks:

However and if-ever you choose to use silhouettes in your wedding day décor, you needn't worry! There is something so timeless about the silhouette that will leave you and your guests begging for more. On that note, we will leave you with our favorite silhouette idea of all time from Le Papier Studio on Etsy...a souvenir you can treasure for a lifetime!

Styled Event: Shabby Chic

Shabby Chic is a trend that is not going anywhere anytime soon. We setup and styled a Shabby Chic shoot to combine some of the cutest trends we have seen around the blog-o-sphere lately:

We lined the tables with a soft ivory table linen and covered it with a lace overlay. Down the center we aligned crystal stemware and a variety of vintage mismatched vases we got from our local thrift store. Doughnuts with flags were used in place of a traditional wedding cake.

The menus featured silhouettes of a boy and girl, and the napkins were adorned with lace and vintage buttons. Each place card was replaced with mini chalkboards we made from wood and chalkboard paint.

The escort cards were made from mix-and-match floral papers and vintage buttons. These were clipped to some twine with clothespins and were strung from a white wicker folding screen.

Each chair was tied with colored ribbon.

We hung white "Bride" and "Groom" signs from the backs of the chairs for the couple.

Mason Jars were tied off with twine and a "W" monogram for the couple's last name. We made more chalkboard signage and tied each beverage stand with lace chair ties from our local event rental company.

Wedding Trend: Watercolors

We love when brides get creative and design their weddings a little more unique than others. The newest trend we see popping up in Fashion and Weddings is WATERCOLORS. And what's not to like? It's a thing of beauty!
